The Residency

WHERE
The fifth edition of the artist residency organized by Tagli will take place in Stromboli.
WHEN
From July 18th to August 3rd 2026.
WHO
Between four and eight projects in the visual and performing arts (music, poetry, dance), video art, and photography, both individual and collective, will be selected.
APPLICATION
It's not necessary to arrive with a ready-made project; instead, it's essential to use the time and space available to focus on research and practice. To apply, tell us about your work, attaching a portfolio, videos, and audio files.
Tagli offers selected artists room and board in a private home. The spaces include rooms, restrooms, common areas, and an outdoor garden. Equipment is shared as needed, including work tables, sound systems, and projection equipment.

Tagli promotes dialogue between artists and the community, creating valuable experiences and providing a shared and stimulating environment for exploration and creative experimentation.
At the end of the residency, an open house will be held to present the works to the island. So far, Tagli has hosted 28 projects selected from approximately 1,000 submissions over the course of four years. Each edition is structured with workshops, meetings, and discussions involving the island.
THE HOUSE
The residence's spaces are all shared. The structure resembles that of a private home, so the rooms and bathrooms are shared. Work areas are primarily outdoors. There are no pre-assigned workspaces: everyone will find their own environment during the first few days of residence.
Stromboli is a welcoming island, but it requires careful treatment. The water is from a tank and not potable, so it should be used sparingly. Garbage must be separated and taken to landfill. The natural environment and gardens require careful treatment. The dry climate makes the surrounding environment vulnerable.

THE MATERIALS
Materials must be procured before arriving. Finding the necessary supplies for specific procedures on the island is more difficult, and shipments are subject to the challenges of sea transport.
Tagli has a backline with a stereo system and subwoofer, keyboard, guitar and microphones, projectors, work tables, printer and scanner.
